A brief description of the program, including examples of peer-to-peer outreach activities:
Sustainability Ambassadors at UMass Lowell play a vital roles in providing personal sustainability connections to the campus community. The Sustainability Ambassadors program was established by the Climate Action Plan Steering Committee and has representation from each functional area on campus. Peer-to-peer examples include our Director of Campus Recreation instructing colleagues on how to utilize our Freewheelers Bike Share Program, students educating students on recycling programs and sustainable move-out operations, and key faculty serving as a resource for the entire campus community that are interested in sustainability teaching and research.

Sustainability Ambassadors are formally designated by the CAP Steering Committee based on their individual area of expertise in sustainability.

A brief description of the formal training that the employee educators receive to prepare them to conduct peer outreach:
Office of Sustainability staff worked with the Sustainability Ambassadors to discuss the importance of peer-to-peer outreach and where needed, provide the members with the literature and resources needed to serve in the role.

A brief description of the financial and/or administrative support the institution provides to the program (e.g. annual budget and/or paid faculty/staff coordination):
The Office of Sustainability offers administrative support to the Sustainability Ambassadors.
