A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):
UMass Lowell's Office of Sustainability conducts a comprehensive outreach and education campaign with orientation staff each summer to ensure that our orientation leaders are fully informed of the sustainability program at UMass Lowell. All orientation tours then prominently feature sustainability, examples include LEED certified buildings, sustainable transportation options, and sustainable food systems.
In addition, Office of Sustainability staff table at each orientation welcome fair during summer and winter break. Sustainability materials are also included in incoming student's orientation packets.
