A brief description of how the employee educators are selected (1st program):
Employee Educators are members of the Commuter Choice Sub-Committee of the Climate Action Plan's Transportation Committee. Employee Educators are formally designated by the CAP Transportation Committee Chair with formal approval by the CAP Steering Committee. Through the work of the committee, Employee Educators work with the Transportation Committee Chair to receive an official orientation as well as training on the wide variety of transportation options available both on and off campus. Training takes the form of program literature and specifics, as well as instruction on how to access commuter benefits and pre-tax incentives for faculty and staff. Employee Educators are selected from the different areas on campus e.g. faculty rep, staff rep and reps on each campus in order to ensure an equitable distribution with the ability to serve all employees. UMass Lowell offers financial and staff support to the operations of the Commuter Choice Committee.
