No

A brief description of the textbook exchange program, textbook lending library, or alternate textbook project:
---

Does the institution provide incentives for academic staff that explicitly encourage the authorship, peer review, and/or adoption of open access textbooks?:
Yes

A brief description of the incentives to encourage the authorship, peer review, and/or adoption of open access textbooks:
UMass Boston hosts an Open Educational Resources (OER) program. OER provides a low-cost and flexible alternative to publisher textbooks for use in online and face-to-face classrooms. They allow instructors to (legally) pick from a wide collection of readily-available learning resources on the web and customize their teaching to their students’ needs while significantly reducing students’ schooling costs. (https://www.umb.edu/learningdesign/open_education/oer)
Faculty may apply for an incentive to either "adopt", "adapt", or "create" OER content for their course. Applications are considered for TT and NTT faculty and students for all levels of graduate and undergraduate courses. Priority is given to the largest classrooms, in order to benefit the largest number of students.
