A brief description of any internal sustainability professional development and training opportunities that the institution makes available to non-academic staff:

UMass Amherst hosted the 2022 Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) North Atlantic Regional Conference. UMass Amherst staff had the opportunity to present, organize, and learn from the various panels, seminars, discussions, and trainings offered on campus. SCUP is an annual event though UMass Amherst does not always host it.

Staff regularly benefit from financially supported external professional development or training opportunities in sustainability, including the annual Global Conference on Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) conferences and the IDEA Campus Energy Conference. Staff also have the opportunity to attend conferences with strong sustainability components, such as the Big Ten and Friends Utility Conference and the Big Ten and Friends Mechanical and Energy Conference.
