A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:
Basing our work on the methodology developed by Colorado State University, we created a list of sustainability terms that were used as search criteria to identify sustainability-related research for all awarded grants in 2021-2022. We then reviewed the list for consistency. All of the information for this credit was derived from this vetted search.
Total number of the institution’s faculty and/or staff that are engaged in research was determined by those identified as having received grants for research that had been deemed to be sustainability-related.
The number of academic departments listed in AC 9 differs from that number in PRE 5 because we have excluded academic departments that do not conduct research. Also, for the department count, we removed all research centers, institutes, or administrative offices with an award.
