A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:

The University of Maryland’s main campus in College Park consists of approximately 14.6 million gross square feet (GSF) in 253 buildings on approximately 1,340 acres. The campus includes the Maryland campus of the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, which is integrated with UMD's Department of Veterinary Medicine. The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources operates agricultural experiment stations in Western Maryland, Central Maryland, and on the Eastern Shore of Maryland which are included in the institutional boundary of this report. The Shady Grove branch of the Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research in Rockville, Maryland is included in the institutional boundary of this report. The Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute operates six training offices around the state in addition to its headquarters in College Park, and these facilities are also included in the institutional boundary of this report. Together, these facilities total to approximately 720,000 gross square feet of building space on approximately 3,800 acres of land.
