A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
New employee orientation includes a fifteen minute presentation by a staff member from the Office of Sustainability that provides an introduction to sustainability initiatives on campus and tells employees about the Office of Sustainability. The content of the presentation aims to be applicable to the people who are attending the orientation, so it contains areas such as the Green Office Program and resources and suggestions in each category (food, water, waste, energy, and transportation), the University's policies for Environmentally Preferable Procurement, grants for the Sustainability Fund, and more. New employees are also provided with web links and resources related to sustainability at the University of Maryland.
