The Baltimore Collegetown Network brings 14 area colleges and universities together with government, business and community leaders to develop and market Baltimore as a vibrant place to live and learn. Part of this network includes the Baltimore Colleges and Universities for a Sustainable Environment (B’CaUSE) is a group of sustainability directors, facilities staff, educators and other campus representatives who care about environmental initiatives. The mission of B’CaUSE is to foster collaboration, share ideas and best practices, and facilitate joint projects to advance campus and regional sustainability goals.

UMBC's Director of Sustainability serves as an AASHE Mentor with the University of Delaware.
UMBC's office of sustainability and grounds shop provides on-going mentorship to the Community of College of Baltimore County related to waste reduction, minimization, and diversion programs.
UMBC's office of sustainability also collaborates and helps to mentor the sustainability stakeholders at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science's Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology.
