Optional Fields
The University of Manitoba is committed to transitioning its fleet of vehicles from fuel to electric. To ensure this happens, the UM has installed the following electric vehicle infrastructure within the past year:
• One heavy-duty level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charging station installed to support the UM’s transition to electric vehicles for its fleet vehicles;
• Three dual-port level 2 charging stations installed in separate UM parking lots to support the electric vehicle transition among staff, students, fleet vehicle support and visitors.
• The conversion of two additional circuits of vehicle plugs to provide continuous Level 1 charging capabilities in two separate parking lots.
• All chargers include data software for ongoing monitoring, tracking and reporting on usage of all electric UM fleet vehicles. Emissions reductions are reported on.
• All stalls that have EV charging stations include proper signage indicating the chargers.
All electric vehicle chargers are shown on our online campus map making it easy for the UM community and external visitors to know exactly where the service is that they are needing. We continue to promote these chargers internally through various communications means to ensure that the UM is offering support for electric vehicle purchases both internal to the UM (fleet vehicles) and externally (UM community).
