The Office of Sustainability (OOS) has a website where information on outreach programs, campaigns or new initiatives is posted. The topics of Campus, Transportation, Education, Food, Waste, Energy, have pages which provide information on University wide initiatives, ways to make day-to-day life more sustainable or links to other department or office websites to connect their sustainability initiatives or related postings. UMToday, the University of Manitoba news page and newsletter, and the OOS social media pages are also linked to show sustainability related stories throughout the year.

A brief description of the sustainability newsletter:

The Office of Sustainability creates and publishes a quarterly newsletter that is both emailed out to a mailing list and posted on the website. The newsletter contains information on upcoming programs, events and initiatives the Office of Sustainability or other University departments are taking part in or highlights from recently past events. The newsletter contains summaries about each topic and then links to webpages with more complete information on the Office of Sustainability website or another University of Manitoba website.

Fair Trade signage is posted at food providers that serve Fair Trade products with brief descriptions of their benefit and links where people can go to learn more. Vegan and vegetarian options are also indicated by food service providers.

A brief description of the sustainability walking map or tour:

The Office of Sustainability produces a Sustainability Guide & Walking Tour map indicating pedestrian corridors, outdoor spaces, nature paths, etc. that is posted on the Sustainability website and is distributed at events. The Office also organizes Nature Walks that guide people through the some of the Sustainable Campus highlights.

The University of Manitoba hosts a Transportation Hub webpage which features sustainable transportation options, accessible transportations and helpful information for transit, cycling, walking, carpooling, use of the Campus Shuttle and driving to campus. For example, the Transit page provides information on the following topics: U-Pass, Peggo Cards, Park & Rides, Bike and Bus, Accessible Transit and Rapid Transit. The Carpool page provides information on GoManitoba, the online carpool/rideshare app, and information on obtaining a permit for a carpool parking stall.

The University supports community members who choose to travel sustainably. The UofM Smart phone App has a page for walking maps which include tunnel guides and the Winnipeg Transit app built in to support people who travel sustainably. The Office of sustainability also provides city and community maps with multi-modal routes to the campus community free of cost.

The Office of Sustainability produces The Green Office Handbook and the Green Residence Handbook available on the Office's website. The handbooks provide tips on how to incorporate sustainability into their lifestyle, information about related University services, and quick facts and information on the topics of energy, kitchen, transportation, waste and water.
