Migratory birds (including Canada Goose), migratory insects (Monarch butterfly) and fish species are identified in the University's planning context document.

A landscape-first campus master planning process is underway (building on prior assessments and updated with additional information as needed). Undeveloped riverbank areas are maintained as green corridors. Grounds are managed through an integrated pest management approach and native species are selected for tree and shrub plantings.
