Visionary (re)Generation

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome :

An open international design competition was held to re-imagine the future of the University of Manitoba's Fort Garry campus. The successful design firm is working closely with the University and community stakeholders to develop a 25 year campus master plan. The site to be developed was a former golf course, built on University of Manitoba property known as the Southwood Lands. There are three main phases of which the work will be completed:

1) Fort Garry Campus Master Plan
2) Southwood Lands Area Master Plan
3) Phase One Site Plan


A brief description of any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation (if not reported above):

While the process of Visionary (re)Generation is ongoing, measurable outcomes will include: The development of a vibrant residential community on the Southwood Lands adjacent to the University, in conjunction with a new Fort Garry Campus Master Plan.
