From the UMaine Carpool program website (https://umaine.edu/parking/carpool-information/): “In case of an emergency, a ride will be provided to any Carpool participant free-of-charge. A Carpool member who lives within 20 miles of campus will directly call to the designated taxi company. For carpool members who live more than 20 miles from campus, they will directly call the designated rental agency and a vehicle will be delivered to the member at their campus address.”
