Campus Compact’s MPES Initiative is a coalition of 38 AmeriCorps members who are hosted at six college campuses across Maine. The MPES facilitates campus/community partnerships to improve energy efficiency and sustainability in the communities and campuses that the AmeriCorps members serve. The main goal of the MPES Initiative is to facilitate behavioral and technical interventions to increase local and regional energy efficiency, and sustainability, particularly for economically disadvantaged individuals and higher education institutions. UMaine currently supports one full-time Americorps volunteer and 7 minimum time Americorps volunteers. Umaine provides a cost-share to support Americorps members.
