The UMaine Green Team is a student club working to increase awareness, create action, and take action with regard to efficiency and sustainability on campus and in the community.
Sustainability and Environmental Action Division is a student government rep. board that works to connect the University of Maine student body with government and faculty to make lasting changes on campus. The group meets routinely to develop skills and support policy changes in an effort to improve the long-term sustainability of our campus.

Established in 1994, the Black Bear Food Guild is a community supported agricultural endeavor, initiated and developed by students in response to their desire for more hands on learning. Students manage two acres of certified organic vegetable production and one acre under cover crop. The majority of the operating capital is from the sale of membership shares. Students provide fresh organically grown vegetables and a newsletter twice a week to 60 share holders.

The Green Loan Fund is a financial partnership between the University of Maine Foundation and the University of Maine System, by and through the University of Maine. The UMaine Hudson Museum promotes art exhibits highlighting different aspects for sustainability. In Spring 2018, the Minski Culture Lab featured an exhibit, “The Art of Climate Science: Selected Expedition Images by UMaine CCI Graduate Students” that included work from faculty and students featuring their research on the causes and timing of climate change, the unprecedented rise and influence of human source pollutants on climate and health, and the impact of climate change on humans and ecosystems.
For the past 23 years, UMaine has collaborated with the Peace and Justice Center for Eastern Maine (http://peacectr.org/wp/about/) to put on the Hope festival, a visual and performing arts festival focused on peace, justice, and sustainability. The festival takes place in the UMaine New Balance Recreation Center and is directed at students.

Maine Bound is a program within Campus Recreation at the University of Maine. Based out of the Maine Bound Adventure Center, the program offers outdoor experience for all skill levels, including trips, local outings, outdoor leadership training, and wilderness first responder training, all which include LNT principles.

Green Living and Learning Community is a themed housing community designed for students who believe that it is important to live a low-impact life. Residence Life and Green Campus Initiative staff members work together to promote sustainable living practices and provide opportunities to learn about various aspects of sustainability.
Terrell House Permaculture Living & Learning Center incorporates a small resident community, educational events, and a community garden. It's vision includes a supportive social environment, affordable housing, on-site food production and preservation, educational opportunities, and community building and outreach, all guided by permaculture ethics and design principles.
