A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:
We developed a list of keywords to filter multiple data bases for possible sustainability research. These keywords, as a well as a visual review, were used to designate researchers on lists from Liberal Arts and Science colleges as sustainability researchers. The Office of Administration and Finance also used the list of keywords to filter through sponsored research. The resulting list of research was reviewed by an Office of Sustainability Graduate Assistant and research that is not related to sustainability was removed. The list of keywords used can be found on tab 3 of the research inventory spreadsheet. Total number of researchers was taken from what the university reports in its NSF Herd Survey.
