Increased use of safety slings within UK HealthCare to move patients, Workers' Compensation Third Party Administrator will change effective July 1, 2015 from Underwriter's Safety & Claims to CorVel, increased medical survellance of animal handlers, automatic defibrillator deployment across campus, and vastly improved annual medical surveillance for employees involved in patient care.

UK HealthCare entered into a management contract with Eastern State Hospital (ESH) on June 29, 2014. The employees staffing ESH are employed by Central Kentucky Management Services, a wholly owned University of Kentucky affiliate. ESH provides mental health services to adult patients.
