At the state level, the University of Kentucky annually advocates and/or communicates with campus and elected officials on a host of public policy issues. Two, in particular, related to public health and access and affordability to higher education. The University is a tobacco-free campus and supports tobacco-free policies and smoking cessation programs on campus and throughout the state. In addition, the University advocates for increased public funding of higher education to increase access to and affordability of college attainment.
