Materials recycled, composted, reused, donated, re-sold, or otherwise diverted :
2,525 Tons

Materials disposed in a solid waste landfill or incinerator :
5,233 Tons

A brief description of programs, policies, infrastructure investments, outreach efforts, and/or other factors that contributed to the diversion rate:

We have recycling programs in place in almost all campus facilities for traditional recyclable materials. We compost leaves and grass trimmings from our grounds operations, reuse pallets, and operate a robust surplus property division that resells goods to the university and the community.

Due to issues with reporting on solid waste disposal numbers during 2010 we have used the most recent year for which we have accurate information (2009)
