A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
The horticulture department uses its organic research farm as a learning laboratory for students in the Sustainable Agriculture Degree program and they gain valuable experience running a Community Supported Agriculture program that is available to faculty, staff and students. The University-based CSA is a very innovative approach to fostering a culture of sustainability through knowledge of food processes, seasonality and local food economies.
