A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation:
The Common Reading Experience for the incoming first year class fall 2011 is No Impact Man by Colin Beavan. This book which discusses one man’s journey to have no negative impact on the environment for an entire year, will be read and discussed by the entire class.
Beginning this year and proceeding into future years, the Student Sustainability Council will partner with New Student Orientation groups to provide every incoming first year student with a sustainability-themed prompt. This year, more than 5000 water bottles were distributed.
