The eco-reps are elected as a position of the Hall Government system under the Resident Student Association. They then have access to the funds and programing resources of the Resident Life Offices at the University of Kentucky.

The student educators meet with the programing assistant bi-weekly and are given written resources to review. Each new class of eco-reps is given training to address the resources available to them and outlines the expectations for their advocacy efforts.

The Office of Sustainability provides a programing assistant to manage the program. The eco-reps have access to the financial resources of the Office of Sustainability and the Student Sustainability Council and Student Government Association.

The ambassador program, formed in January 2012, allows students to self select.

When student become ambassadors they receive a verbal and digital summary of the current sustainability landscape at UK and the resources available to them. Each month, the coordinator of the program will organize a formal voluntary program that focuses on a particular element of sustainability on our campus and in general. They ambassadors will also be notified via listserv of all other sustainability related trainings, presentations and events.

The office of sustainability funds a student-position to coordinate the ambassador program and provides funding as needed to programs developed by the ambassadors. Funding for events is also available through the environmental stewardship fee.
