A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
The University of Kansas Human Resources, and Equal Opportunity Department offer a number of wellness programs for students, faculty, and staff. These entities work with the state Employee Assistance Program to provide information, short-term counseling, advice, and referrals from licensed professionals for employees, family members in the same household, and dependent children. Programs include health assessments, flu shots, tobacco cessation programs, weight reduction, mental wellness, and more. Watkins Health Center provides a variety of health and wellness resources for students including, sexual health, substance abuse, smoking cessation, mental health, communicable disease and other health topics. KU Dining Services also provides nutrition and wellness on-line tools for all staff, faculty and students including web-based menus with NetNutrition (nutritional analysis) program, Ask-a-Dietitian; Better Bites Healthy Eating program as well as monthly nutrition educational materials and displays.
