A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation:

Prior to every semester, the Center for Sustainability distributes brochures about sustainability at New Student Orientation events. Starting in 2010, the KU Center for Sustainability began participating in the New Student Orientation Info Fairs, providing students and their families with information about what to bring to KU with sustainability in mind. This information includes how to live sustainably in residence halls or apartments as well as sustainable transportation options to get to, from, and around campus. New students are provided with a flyer about freshmen and sophomore level sustainability related courses and a website link to a list of all student organizations related to sustainability.First year students also have the option of enrolling in a learning community called Building a Better Future World, a multidisciplinary collaboration between Design, Business and Urban Planning.
