A brief summary of additional ways the institution collaborates with other campuses to advance sustainability :
As part of the Take Charge Challenge, an energy competition with the city of Manhattan in 2011, the Center for Sustainability worked with the Sustainability Director at Kansas State University to coordinate competitions in residence halls on both campuses. The Center has also assisted with development of the Kansas Higher Education Sustainability Network and served on the planning committee for the Kansas Sustainability Conference, two initiatives centered at Kansas State University. Additionally, KU Dining Services professional staff have been active members in their professional association's on-going sustainability initiatives, Participating on various peer institution committees to establish campus dining sustainability programs, guidelines, awards and national training sessions.
