The University of Iowa has a comprehensive total rewards package that includes base wages, additional compensation, retirement contributions, health and dental insurance, term life insurance, disability insurance, and other monetary benefits. There has been a concerted effort to increase the pay of the lowest wage earners which has impacted salary, shift differentials, and additional compensation. While there isn’t a formal commitment to a living wage, there are continued efforts to address the compensation of lower wage earners.
