Optional Fields
Fleet Services has been a leading alternative fuel user in the State of Iowa for many years. We were an early adopter of E85 vehicles and have continued to acquire E85 vehicles for our fleet. As the availability of E85 vehicles has declined the University of Iowa has been introducing fully electric vehicles into our fleet. Fleet Services has been assisting in the adoption of fully electric vehicles on campus by funding the capital costs for the charging infrastructure. This financial assistance reduces the capital burden and provides a more positive comparison to traditionally fueled vehicles. "The solar e-car charging station, located near the University Services Building and the Madison Street Services Building, provides charging spaces for approximately 20 electric vehicles for Facilities Management (FM) and other UI departments...Facilities Management continues to expand its fleet of electric and hybrid vehicles"
