Each item was counted and logged into CBORD for the valuation of goods and to determine the cost remaining on hand in inventory. The timeline consists of the 2023-2024 fiscal year. In addition, the University of Iowa purchased cage-free egg products from the Farmer's Hen House. Farmer’s Hen House produces cage-free, free-range, and organic egg products. In the last fiscal year, $137,861 was spent on Farmer's Hen House products which is in addition to the attached inventory.

Orders are placed through a contracted distributor for who offers some products that are deemed sustainable. The university also has separate contracts with vendors to only carry and deliver a certain type of product, such as cage-free eggs.
