The University has four delegates (student, staff, and two faculty members) on the Iowa City Climate Action Steering Committee. The steering committee has actively participated in the development of a consensus-based Climate Action and Adaption plan for the community to reach the City's greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals. They work hand in hand with the community to identify projects, provide education, promote initiatives, and received feedback. In June, the committee proposed a timeline to voted on and presented to city council.
