The Pomerantz Career Center at the University of Iowa places significant emphasis on Community involvement. The center actively tracks the amount of time students spend in service-learning through independent volunteering, structured classroom service, alternative spring break, and volunteer internships. In the 2015-2016 school year, 5,953 students logged at total of 48,486 hours. While this number is likely understated because reporting is voluntary, it gives us a gauge as to the magnitude of community service activities at the University of Iowa.

Please see page 11 of the PDF for specific breakout of undergraduate community service statistics. Additionally, all statistics relate to the 2015-2016 school year due to data collection constraints.
