One example of socially responsible investment options is included in TIAA-CREF Social Choice Equity Fund, Institutional Class:

The fund seeks a favorable long-term total return that reflects the investment performance of the overall U.S. stock market while giving special
consideration to certain social criteria. It normally invests at least 80% of its assets in
equity securities. The fund's investments are subject to certain environmental, social and governance criteria. The evaluation process favors companies that are strong stewards of the environment; devoted to serving local communities; committed to higher labor standards; dedicated to producing high-quality and safe products; and those managed in an exemplary or ethical manner. The fund may also invest in U.S. Government securities and may hold up to 15% of its assets in foreign securities.
