Documentation
Do the figures reported above cover one, two, or three academic years?:
One
A brief description of the methodology used to complete the course inventory :
When the course catalog is posted, the instructor/adviser for the SEE FP minor uses the search function to find sustainability focused and inclusive courses. The terms that are used to find those courses are: sustain, environ, green, energy, solar, wind, geothermal, fuel cell, waste, pollution, water, land, food, transportation, nature and ecosystem. Each course description that returns from that search is read and evaluated for the courses’ sustainability potential. The evaluation doesn’t have any firm metrics, but is a subjective determination by the adviser/instructor.
How were courses with multiple offerings or sections counted for the figures reported above?:
Other (please describe below)
A brief description of how courses with multiple offerings or sections were counted:
Only distinct course titles were counted as part of this inventory. Courses were only counted once, regardless of the number of sections that were being offered. However, courses with the same subject code and number, but with different section titles were counted separately (e.g. ACE 199 has two distinct sections that cover different material). Crosslistings were not counted as part of the course count. Only one crosslisted department did not have its own unique course and was not counted in the academic departments with sustainability course offerings.
