The Office of Planning, Sustainability, and Project (PSPM) provides recycling and waste management training to the University's Building Service Workers. Workers are given a formal training that includes UIC's binding commitments, recycling and waste management processes and data, as well as information on special considerations (how to place bins, signage, recycling events, etc.).
PSPM also offers monthly webinars for departmental EcoReps. Occasionally, these programs are shared more broadly with the staff.
Also, Human Resources offers a program called "Know Your U". Know Your U is perhaps the first program of its kind in the country, offering eligible university employee’s time away during their normal workday to experience the remarkable programs and facilities that their hard work supports. Taking a Green Campus Tour is one of the opportunities. https://hr.uic.edu/employees/know-your-u/
