Eco-Volunteers
A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
Eco-Volunteers is a voluntary program that encourages interested students to volunteer with the Office of Planning, Sustainability, and Project Management to spread environmental awareness. Eco-Volunteers attend events at UIC, and assist event-goers with sustainability practices such as recycling and waste minimization. Eco-Volunteers are able to reach a broad audience of students, faculty, staff and sometimes outside institutions.

Eco-Volunteers reach a broad audience of peers, as well as faculty, staff, and the surrounding community through volunteering at zero-waste and sustainability related events and providing education how to recycle and reduce waste.

UIC Heritage Garden
A brief description of the student educators program (2nd program):
The UIC Heritage Garden is a hands-on learning project with an internship program. Student interns work with faculty, staff, and community members to connect horticulture with environmental sustainability, cultural diversity, and social justice.
