The UIC Office of Diversity (OOD) is headed by the Associate Chancellor and Vice Provost for Diversity, Co-Chairing the UIC Diversity Advisory Committee with the Provost, and Chairing the Diversity Chairpersons Committee. Within the OOD, policies, programs, and training workshops are developed, e.g., Cultural Dialogues. The ACVPD serves as an advisor to the Chancello and Provost on campus issues and initiatives, and oversees various units of the office, most notably, the 7 Cultural Centers. The priorities of the OOD are to enhance community engagement, expand frontiers of knowledge, promote equity and inclusion, and strengthen diversity infrastructure.

Cultural Dialogues Initiative is a program of group workshops focused on race and gender, social identity, and professional student development. Additional programming is supported by the OOD and other offices, e.g., Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs, Office of Access and Equity, Vice Provost Faculty Affairs, etc.
