A brief description of when and why the workplace health and safety baseline was adopted (e.g. in sustainability plans and policies or in the context of other reporting obligations):
The University of Idaho has a strong Unit Safety Committee program, in which colleges and workgroups can share safety protocols, escalate concerns, and resolve issues. There are currently 20 active committees, made up of all levels of Faculty and Staff. This mechanism encourages voicing of concerns from all members of the community and provides means of escalating issues to the University Safety and Loss Control Committee. In addition, The Safety Steering Committee was recently formed to address risk and safety concerns at the highest levels.
