UH Tree Mitigation Policy
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
As stated by Section 6 of the University of Houston Design Guidelines, all tree canopy inches lost due to capital construction must be mitigated 1:1 unless excluded by mitigation criteria. This has resulted in tree planting activities across campus to replaced lost caliper inches as well as a fund withing Facilities Planning and Construction to plan additional trees in future grounds maintenance.
