Certificate in Food, Nutrition, and Health

The goal of this certificate program is to provide a holistic overview of current food and nutrition issues and their impact on physical, social, emotional, and spiritual health. Throughout this certificate, students become more conscious of what we eat, why we eat it, how it is prepared, and what consequences our food choices have on our health as well as the health of our planet. Students examine the impact of stress on the body and the health crisis posed by obesity in the U.S. Students also learn how we can change our eating habits for more healthful outcomes, including swapping processed sugar for other sweeteners, adding probiotics to the diet, and harnessing the healing effect of herbs.
