The INSIGHT Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award recognizes colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion. UHD was a recipient of this award in 2021.

UHD was awarded the 2021 HEED Award. Focus groups and quantitative data are used to coordinate ways to assess whether the Center for Diversity and Inclusion is achieving their goal of achieving measurable outcomes and collect more useful data. This data is used in the Center for Diversity and Inclusion's CIP report which corresponds with upper administration.
