Student Ohana for Sustainability (SOS) Club

A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):

The Student Ohana of Sustainability (SOS) Club at the University of Hawaii Maui College seeks to seed a sustainable future through education and practice. The SOS club promotes sustainability efforts on campus, in our community, and supports non profit organizations who are working toward these goals. Our efforts include: adopt-a-hwy (Kahului Beach road) clean ups, beach clean ups, participation in community advocacy efforts and conferences, planning Earth Day for the UHMC campus, securing filtered water bottle fill-up stations on campus, initiating a ban on plastics on campus, installation of solar picnic tables, school (organic) community gardens, and more.
