The campus does not border a legally protected area, internationally recognized area, priority site for biodiversity, and/or region of conservation importance. The campus is located in an urban area. The canal that borders the campus has been channelized re-diverting the canal and springs that flow below it.

The Manu o Kū, fairy terns (common name), Gygis alba (scientific name) nest in the trees on campus. These birds are monitored before any arborist work is done. They are native but not listed with extinction risk.
