Hawaiʻi-CC and UH-Hilo plan to install a HIBike Bikeshare station on each campus.
There are various stations to lock up a bike on campus to help encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting.

The County of Hawaiʻi Island offered a 50% discount on County bus passes for anyone with a college ID; recently the County adopted a 2-year pilot program offering free bus rides for all passengers as well as free access to the County Bikeshare program to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation.
