A brief description of the student sustainability research program:
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities (UROP) coordinates and promotes opportunities for undergraduate students across all disciplines at UH Mānoa to engage in faculty-mentored research and creative works. UROP provides programmatic and financial support for undergraduate students across all disciplines engaging in faculty-mentored research and creative works to foster a community of student scholars. The Institute for Sustainability and Resilience has a partnership with UROP, and students earning a BA in sustainability must do a research project. https://manoa.hawaii.edu/undergrad/urop/

A brief description of the faculty sustainability research program:
University of Hawaiʻi Sea Grant funds faculty researchers in sustainability topics. Past funded research includes sea level rise adaptation in Waikiki, restoration of coastal agro-forestry systems, and increasing coastal ecosystem resilience in the face of climate change, among many others.
