A brief description of the undergraduate degree program:
The Environmental Economics and Management major prepares students for public and private positions in natural and environmental resource analysis and management. Students in this major receive training in resource economics, environmental economics, economic theory and quantitative decisions making techniques. Through working with their faculty advisor, students may choose to specialize in a particular area of natural and environmental resource management, including water resource management, conservation, regional or community development, or management of public or private resources. The courses within this major provide students with the necessary background to work effectively with professionals in many fields.

A brief description of the undergraduate degree program (2nd program):
The Bachelor of Landscape Architecture at UGA is a professional degree and one of the top ranked LA programs in the country. The program of study prepares students for licensure and professional practice in the field of Landscape Architecture. In addition to core requirements, students take Landscape Architecture courses in various content areas as well as complete a required internship to gain professional experience before graduation. The curriculum is centered on a series of core studio classes with graduated content and partner classes that offer the chance to combine theory and practice. The undergraduate program at CED offers guest lecturers, service learning opportunities, charrette experiences, and study abroad trips as enrichment opportunities. To better meet the challenges and needs of an ever-changing society, the undergraduate program focuses on sustainable design in an effort to produce graduates with the most current knowledge, skills and abilities. The program has a diverse faculty that represents a full and balanced spectrum of landscape architecture specializations and viewpoints. The wide range of classes offered at the College reflects the considerable resources of the department and provides opportunities for personalized instruction and individual guidance. Through the process of obtaining the sustainability certificate, students gain knowledge about the myriad of issues pertaining to sustainability, achieve enlightened perspectives about what sustainability means for individuals, communities, and the world, and acquire experience applying this understanding to meaningful, real-world situations.

The Environmental Ethics Certificate Program (EECP) is a non-degree program offered as an enhancement to an undergraduate or graduate degree. The EECP provides an interdisciplinary forum for students, faculty, and the community to discuss social and scientific responsibilities toward our environment. // The Program seeks to unify people from a diversity of disciplines in discussion and decision-making about environmental problems that involve competing values. The Program provides a forum where philosophers, scientists and people from all other disciplines can discuss social and scientific responsibilities toward our environment in a rational manner which clearly defines problems, considers all the information, and maintains our values.

Local Food Systems Certificate

The UGA Certificate in Local Foods is an interdisciplinary certificate designed to give students an overview of the concepts and issues of the local food movement. Students from any major, who have a professional or personal interest in local food systems, are provided the opportunity to explore the many interconnected issues of growing and consuming food grown. The course of study for the certificate insures students receive a balanced view and deeper understanding both the production and nutritional aspects, as well as the complexities of safeguarding the environment and providing for those less fortunate.
