A brief description of the program or practice:
UGA installs primarily native plant material specifically adapted for the micro-climate of individual sites around its campus; drought resistant plants are used in select areas to reduce the amount of irrigation necessary. Much of the UGA campus is not irrigated by an irrigation system. Areas that are irrigated utilize harvested, non-potable water and/or efficient irrigation technologies (i.e. drip-irrigation). New plantings are typically only irrigated for a one-year establishment period.
