A brief description of the program:
The Governor of Georgia has issued an Executive Order directing all agencies and institutions to increase the level of small and minority business participation.
If a minority vendor can meet the needs of the University at a fair and reasonable price and in a timely fashion, it is strongly encouraged to utilize them as the source of supply. If a minority vendor cannot be located, every effort should be made to utilize a small business.
Listings of these types of businesses are available from the Central Contractor Registration System website http://www.ccr.gov/ utilizing the dynamic small business search. Additionally, the UGA Procurement Office staff assists in locating the different types of businesses addressed in this paragraph.
