The rationale for excluding any features that are present from the institutional boundary:
The following University owned space was excluded from STARS reporting: The University owns several properties off campus, including Greek houses, single-family homes, and apartments. The individual renters of these properties pay the utilities directly, not through the University. The University has several remote locations - the Echo lake Station, Chamberlain Observatory, and Mt. Evans Observatory - that were not included because of unavailability of utility information.
