A brief description of the institution’s workplace health and safety initiatives:

The Environmental Health and Safety Department supports the University's mission by ensuring the health and well-being of University students, faculty, staff, and visitors and by remaining a community leader in environmental stewardship and sustainability.

The Environmental Health and Safety Department assists the University community in reducing risk and injury through hazard recognition, evaluation and remediation. EHS acts as the University liaison to federal, state and local regulatory agencies related to environmental and occupational safety issues.
EHS offers training for University employees covering a number of general safety topics:

Back and Lifting Safety
Ergonomics
Heat Stress
Ladder Safety
Winter Safety
