The UD Sustainability website is designed to serve as both a "Frequently Asked Questions" resource for users and a clearinghouse for all things UD Sustainability on campus. Our "How Do I?" page answers the most frequently asked questions I receive through meetings, email & social media on campus. Our other pages address issues like energy, waste, water, volunteering opportunities, and more.

Social Media Platforms

@UDelSustainable is our Twitter feed and it is branded as a professional account for the Sustainability Manager. The idea is to give folk a more personal insight into sustainability on campus. Content is curated around interesting sustainability-themed retweets, personal insights into issues and happenings on campus, and connections to events, promotions and other relevant happenings on campus. Our @UDelSustainability Instagram page is more of a official, University-centric voice for sustainability on campus. We also try to post lots of feel-good stories or images. We do not have a Facebook page.

Our Dining Services keep promotional material including information about sustainable operations and food systems. Mostly they use signage to draw attention to healthier or more sustainable food options, as they find visitors are not interested in brochures.

We feature multiple transportation options on our website, which can connect commuters with public transit, carpooling or walking / biking options. We also have ZIP Car, Bolt Bus service and other non-traditional options on campus.

Res. Life hosts "Green Room Challenges" each year in the residence halls to educate students about sustainable lifestyle in a fun, competitive atmosphere. Last year we had over 600 registered dorm rooms.
